Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Real Estate and Media sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AMS:WLSNc), which rose 3.02% or 0.81 points to trade at 27.80 at the close. OCI (AMS:OCI) added 2.93% or 0.755 points to end at 26.520 and Ahold Kon (AMS:AHLN) was up 2.77% or 0.47 points to 17.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TNT Express (AMS:TNTE), which added 0.48% or 0.037 points to trade at 7.728 in late trade. Heineken (AMS:HEIN) added 0.72% or 0.51 points to end at 71.75 and Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB) gained 0.87% or 0.24 points to 27.96.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 188 to 29 and 7 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 16.51% to 20.23 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.34% or 0.18 to $52.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $58.97 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.16% or 1.80 to trade at $1156.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.15% to 1.1030, while EUR/GBP fell 1.11% to 0.7109.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.86% at 96.78.
