Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Media and Support Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Vopak (AMS:VOPA), which rose 3.62% or 1.61 points to trade at 46.23 at the close. Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB) added 2.17% or 0.59 points to end at 27.79 and Wolters Kluwer (AMS:WLSNc) was up 2.06% or 0.57 points to 28.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OCI (AMS:OCI), which lost 0.41% or 0.110 points to trade at 26.810 in late trade. Gemalto (AMS:GTO) declined 0.27% or 0.23 points to end at 83.80 and TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) gained 0.07% or 0.005 points to 7.650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 206 to 38 and 4 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.92% to 20.90.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.31% or 0.79 to $61.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.79% or 1.14 to hit $64.47 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.57% or 6.70 to trade at $1177.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.46% to 1.1175, while EUR/GBP fell 0.83% to 0.7108.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.11% at 95.57.
