Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Randstad (AS:RAND), which rose 2.26% or 1.05 points to trade at 47.59 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 2.17% or 0.38 points to end at 17.68 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) was up 2.02% or 0.072 points to 3.645 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO), which lost 2.73% or 0.30 points to trade at 10.85 in late trade. Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) declined 1.35% or 0.27 points to end at 19.80 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) shed 0.96% or 0.20 points to 21.12.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 62 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.63% to 22.17.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 2.46% or 0.97 to $38.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 2.06% or 0.84 to hit $40.03 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.41% or 17.20 to trade at $1239.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1255, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.7837.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.55% at 95.46.
