Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 3.94% or 2.09 points to trade at 55.14 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 1.76% or 0.30 points to end at 17.61 and Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) was up 1.76% or 0.34 points to 19.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NN Group (AS:NN), which lost 2.01% or 0.60 points to trade at 29.05 in late trade. SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) declined 1.23% or 0.14 points to end at 10.86 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) shed 0.68% or 0.03 points to 4.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 88 to 71 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.86% to 20.08.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.01% or 0.47 to $46.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.56% or 0.27 to hit $47.81 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.45 to trade at $1271.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.1293, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.7861.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 94.73.
