Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.51% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Philips Kon (AS:PHG), which rose 4.36% or 1.14 points to trade at 27.32 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 2.27% or 0.45 points to end at 20.27 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) was up 2.13% or 0.082 points to 3.932 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 0.98% or 0.590 points to trade at 59.620 in late trade. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) declined 0.84% or 0.024 points to end at 2.827 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) shed 0.62% or 0.49 points to 79.17.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 121 to 51 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.49% to 16.34.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.05% or 1.04 to $49.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 2.05% or 1.06 to hit $50.72 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.34% or 4.25 to trade at $1263.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.0881, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8921.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 98.77.
