Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 4.56% or 0.269 points to trade at 6.173 at the close. Randstad (AS:RAND) added 2.97% or 1.32 points to end at 45.70 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) was up 2.04% or 1.92 points to 96.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which lost 0.63% or 0.23 points to trade at 36.26 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 0.60% or 0.12 points to end at 20.82 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 0.51% or 0.060 points to 11.790.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 64 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.93% to 15.49.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.08% or 0.04 to $50.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.47% or 0.24 to hit $51.62 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.19% or 2.35 to trade at $1265.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.0867, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8893.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 98.74.
