Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 2.02% or 0.140 points to trade at 7.078 at the close. Randstad (AS:RAND) added 1.05% or 0.57 points to end at 54.96 and Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB) was up 1.04% or 0.36 points to 35.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which lost 0.96% or 0.38 points to trade at 39.01 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 0.64% or 0.12 points to end at 18.75 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 0.61% or 0.510 points to 83.690.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 49 and 7 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.56% to 18.51.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $50.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.30% or 0.16 to hit $53.09 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 2.40 to trade at $1281.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.0749, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.8384.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 99.54.
