Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Support Services, Construction & Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were OCI (AMS:OCI), which rose 5.85% or 1.690 points to trade at 30.565 at the close. Randstad (AMS:RAND) added 2.25% or 1.37 points to end at 62.34 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) was up 1.51% or 0.12 points to 8.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AMS:GTO), which lost 1.04% or 0.82 points to trade at 78.19 in late trade. Unibail Rodamco SE (AMS:UNBP) declined 0.92% or 2.25 points to end at 242.30 and Aegon (AMS:AEGN) shed 0.91% or 0.064 points to 7.004.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 137 to 76 and 5 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.10% to 17.30.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.81% or 0.88 to $47.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.21% or 0.65 to hit $52.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.62% or 6.70 to trade at $1095.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.89% to 1.1031, while EUR/GBP rose 0.71% to 0.7058.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.63% at 96.99.
