Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Forestry & Paper, Mining and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares lost 1.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Taslif (CS:TSF1), which rose 5.98% or 1.65 points to trade at 29.25 at the close. AFMA SA (CS:AFM) added 3.33% or 30 points to end at 930 and Afric Industries Sa (CS:AFIND) was up 3.32% or 9.95 points to 309.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Miniere Touissit (CS:CMT), which lost 9.99% or 148 points to trade at 1333 in late trade. Fenie Brossette (CS:FBR) declined 9.97% or 14.75 points to end at 133.25 and IB Maroc Com SA (CS:IBC) shed 8.09% or 9.10 points to 103.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 29 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.44% or 0.21 to $47.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $50.62 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.55 to trade at $1246.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.05% to 10.7680, while USD/MAD rose 0.07% to 9.9849.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 99.52.
