Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares lost 0.96% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Promopharm S.A. (CS:PRO), which rose 9.76% or 122 points to trade at 1372 at the close. Alliances (CS:ADI) added 2.33% or 1 points to end at 61 and AFMA SA (CS:AFM) was up 1.89% or 15 points to 805 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cartier Saada (CS:CRS), which lost 5.85% or 1.20 points to trade at 19.30 in late trade. Aluminum mar 1l (CS:ALU) declined 4.45% or 43 points to end at 924 and Total Maroc SA (CS:TMA) shed 3.82% or 29.0 points to 730.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.48% or 0.74 to $49.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.60% or 0.81 to hit $49.81 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.14% or 1.75 to trade at $1270.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.21% to 10.9410, while USD/MAD fell 0.31% to 9.6790.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.41% at 93.77.
