Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Insurance, Distributors and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares lost 0.43% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Ciments Du Maroc (CS:SCM), which rose 4.54% or 50 points to trade at 1150 at the close. Ennakl (CS:NAKL) added 3.88% or 1.57 points to end at 41.98 and Managem (CS:MNG) was up 3.55% or 32 points to 932 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Holcim Maroc SA (CS:HOL), which lost 5.97% or 130 points to trade at 2044 in late trade. Colorado (CS:COL) declined 5.74% or 5.00 points to end at 82.00 and Maroc Leasing (CS:MLE) shed 4.47% or 17.00 points to 363.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 15 and 6 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.59% or 0.36 to $61.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.21% or 0.81 to hit $68.19 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.77% or 21.10 to trade at $1213.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.47% to 10.9290, while USD/MAD fell 0.92% to 9.6116.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.16% at 93.60.
