Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction & Building Materials, Oil & Gas and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares added 2.45% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Holcim Maroc SA (CS:HOL), which rose 6.00% or 126 points to trade at 2226 at the close. Afric Industries Sa (CS:AFIND) added 6.00% or 20.55 points to end at 363.05 and Fenie Brossette (CS:FBR) was up 5.99% or 5.42 points to 95.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Brasseries Du Maroc (CS:SBM), which lost 2.94% or 50 points to trade at 1650 in late trade. Aluminum mar 1l (CS:ALU) declined 2.22% or 25 points to end at 1100 and Med Paper (CS:PAP) shed 1.87% or 0.28 points to 14.65.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 39 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.50% or 0.23 to $45.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.13% or 0.54 to hit $47.23 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 2.13% or 27.00 to trade at $1293.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.30% to 10.9940, while USD/MAD fell 0.51% to 9.6031.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.71% at 93.06.
