Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Forestry & Paper and Construction & Building Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares added 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Sothema (CS:SOT), which rose 5.92% or 74 points to trade at 1324 at the close. Aluminum mar 1l (CS:ALU) added 5.92% or 77 points to end at 1377 and Med Paper (CS:PAP) was up 3.89% or 1.14 points to 30.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Maghrebail (CS:MAB), which lost 5.74% or 56 points to trade at 919 in late trade. Cartier Saada (CS:CRS) declined 4.28% or 1.02 points to end at 22.80 and Maghreb Oxygene (CS:OXYG) shed 2.61% or 3.00 points to 112.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 17 and 8 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.48% or 0.22 to $46.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.54% or 0.26 to hit $48.55 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1267.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.02% to 10.9310, while USD/MAD rose 0.03% to 9.7598.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 97.00.
