Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Beverage, Distributors and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares rose 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Brasseries Du Maroc (CS:SBM), which rose 3.15% or 49 points to trade at 1600 at the close. Involys (CS:INV) added 2.92% or 3.35 points to end at 118.00 and Ennakl Automobiles SA (CS:NKL) was up 2.68% or 1.40 points to 53.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centrale Danone (CS:CDA), which lost 5.99% or 38 points to trade at 601 in late trade. Holcim Maroc SA (CS:HOL) declined 5.15% or 125 points to end at 2300 and Med Paper (CS:PAP) shed 4.24% or 0.67 points to 15.12.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 17 and 2 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.56% or 1.13 to $43.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.26% or 1.04 to hit $45.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.24% or 3.20 to trade at $1328.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.24% to 10.8410, while USD/MAD fell 0.04% to 9.8525.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.30.
