Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Insurance, Pharmaceutical Industry and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares gained 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Promopharm S.A. (CS:PRO), which rose 9.95% or 119 points to trade at 1314 at the close. Saham Assurance (CS:SAH) added 5.91% or 58 points to end at 1038 and Involys (CS:INV) was up 5.83% or 7.00 points to 127.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Agma Lahlou-Tazi (CS:AGMA), which lost 5.34% or 124 points to trade at 2194 in late trade. Holcim Maroc SA (CS:HOL) declined 4.97% or 114 points to end at 2176 and Med Paper (CS:PAP) shed 4.11% or 0.73 points to 17.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 18 and 5 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.06% or 0.03 to $48.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $49.70 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 1.37% or 18.15 to trade at $1338.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.06% to 10.8710, while USD/MAD fell 0.30% to 9.7577.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 95.66.
