Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Consumer Staples and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 4.51% or 1.10 points to trade at 25.50 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 2.19% or 16.56 points to end at 774.01 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 1.45% or 0.230 points to 16.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which lost 2.08% or 0.650 points to trade at 30.560 in late trade. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) declined 2.06% or 4.02 points to end at 191.10 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) shed 1.99% or 0.450 points to 22.210.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 179 to 101 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.05% or 13.48 to $1296.18 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.03% or 0.96 to hit $48.36 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.66% or 0.82 to trade at $50.29 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.70% to 18.2188, while EUR/MXN fell 0.35% to 20.5727.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 96.53.
