Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 3.07% or 1.03 points to trade at 34.80 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 1.93% or 0.740 points to end at 39.020 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 1.75% or 0.600 points to 34.890 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which lost 2.82% or 1.310 points to trade at 45.170 in late trade. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) declined 2.40% or 4.190 points to end at 170.500 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) shed 2.35% or 0.680 points to 28.250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 86 to 38 and 33 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.09% or 1.10 to $1168.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.93% or 2.73 to hit $52.80 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.00% or 0.01 to trade at $56.81 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.09% to 15.7341, while EUR/MXN fell 0.33% to 17.3970.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 96.43.
