Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Telecoms Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.55% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which rose 1.74% or 2.130 points to trade at 124.500 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 1.33% or 4.200 points to end at 319.050 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was up 0.78% or 0.310 points to 40.060 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 5.74% or 1.070 points to trade at 17.570 in late trade. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 2.65% or 7.360 points to end at 270.480 and Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) shed 2.48% or 0.310 points to 12.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 95 to 65 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.87% or 11.10 to $1287.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.92% or 0.45 to hit $48.62 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 0.45 to trade at $50.09 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.09% to 18.8378, while EUR/MXN rose 1.50% to 21.2768.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 94.42.
