Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA), which rose 1.58% or 0.920 points to trade at 59.050 at the close. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) added 1.53% or 0.45 points to end at 29.86 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was up 1.41% or 1.210 points to 87.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 10.79% or 2.580 points to trade at 21.330 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 4.58% or 1.220 points to end at 25.390 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) shed 4.35% or 8.550 points to 188.170.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 135 to 103 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.75% or 9.15 to $1234.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.39% or 0.21 to hit $52.99 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $55.65 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 20.2842, while EUR/MXN rose 0.01% to 21.4915.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 101.08.
