Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 4.82% or 1.050 points to trade at 22.850 at the close. Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB) added 3.69% or 8.500 points to end at 239.010 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 2.56% or 0.400 points to 16.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 4.46% or 10.340 points to trade at 220.610 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 3.52% or 0.440 points to end at 12.060 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) shed 3.42% or 2.570 points to 72.790.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 71 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.45% or 5.10 to $1129.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.54% or 1.64 to hit $44.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.51% or 1.23 to trade at $47.85 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.35% to 17.1060, while EUR/MXN rose 1.75% to 19.1240.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 96.39.
