Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 2.81% or 0.90 points to trade at 32.97 at the close. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) added 2.70% or 2.57 points to end at 97.72 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB) was up 2.35% or 4.48 points to 195.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 5.35% or 40.76 points to trade at 721.00 in late trade. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 3.68% or 15.30 points to end at 401.00 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) shed 2.49% or 3.62 points to 141.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 181 to 93 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.91% or 11.38 to $1245.12 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.40% or 0.63 to hit $44.34 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.03% or 0.49 to trade at $46.88 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.36% to 17.9706, while EUR/MXN fell 0.09% to 20.0348.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 97.21.
