Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 4.44% or 1.290 points to trade at 30.330 at the close. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 3.76% or 3.300 points to end at 90.950 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was up 3.75% or 2.250 points to 62.190 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which lost 5.05% or 1.080 points to trade at 20.320 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 3.04% or 0.530 points to end at 16.880 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) shed 2.37% or 4.63 points to 191.02.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 174 to 97 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.89% or 11.00 to $1245.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.35% or 0.66 to hit $48.25 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.22% or 0.63 to trade at $50.99 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.42% to 19.0846, while EUR/MXN rose 1.05% to 20.6348.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 99.53.
