Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 1.69% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA), which rose 4.75% or 8.020 points to trade at 176.740 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 4.69% or 4.050 points to end at 90.360 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) was up 4.63% or 7.500 points to 169.630 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 0.79% or 0.150 points to trade at 18.770 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 0.73% or 0.220 points to end at 29.940 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) shed 0.55% or 0.16 points to 28.78.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 137 to 119 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 1.07% or 12.95 to $1217.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.71% or 0.38 to hit $52.84 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $55.39 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.02% to 21.3862, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 23.0255.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.81% at 99.95.
