Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 1.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 6.17% or 1.050 points to trade at 18.060 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 5.07% or 24.180 points to end at 501.500 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was up 3.70% or 0.980 points to 27.450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA), which lost 1.98% or 0.940 points to trade at 46.480 in late trade. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) declined 1.08% or 0.610 points to end at 56.040 and Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) shed 0.99% or 1.300 points to 130.650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 162 to 109 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.30% or 3.75 to $1250.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.63% or 0.34 to hit $53.67 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.23 to trade at $56.28 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 19.8121, while EUR/MXN rose 0.00% to 20.8988.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 101.74.
