Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 1.29% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 2.62% or 1.300 points to trade at 50.990 at the close. Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) added 2.46% or 3.69 points to end at 153.90 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 2.31% or 9.25 points to 410.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which lost 1.02% or 0.240 points to trade at 23.300 in late trade. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) declined 0.59% or 0.410 points to end at 68.800 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) shed 0.53% or 0.76 points to 143.31.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 164 to 96 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.27% or 3.33 to $1242.47 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.94% or 1.32 to hit $46.25 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.77% or 1.32 to trade at $48.95 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.58% to 18.1467, while EUR/MXN rose 0.41% to 20.7280.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.39.
