Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Industrials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 7.68% or 1.110 points to trade at 15.560 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) added 3.78% or 7.770 points to end at 213.410 and America Movil L, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) was up 3.58% or 0.560 points to 16.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 3.93% or 1.140 points to trade at 27.900 in late trade. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) declined 1.26% or 0.39 points to end at 30.60 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) shed 0.97% or 0.140 points to 14.320.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 85 to 57 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1204.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.26% or 0.13 to hit $49.55 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $56.71 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.05% to 15.1439, while EUR/MXN fell 0.05% to 16.3027.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 98.50.
