Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 3.29% or 0.370 points to trade at 11.600 at the close. America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) added 2.65% or 0.290 points to end at 11.240 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was up 2.30% or 0.920 points to 40.880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA), which lost 2.05% or 4.430 points to trade at 212.100 in late trade. La Comercial (MX:LCMRUBC) declined 1.82% or 0.34 points to end at 18.30 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) shed 1.72% or 0.40 points to 22.84.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 57 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.64% or 8.30 to $1296.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.98% or 0.96 to hit $47.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.45% or 1.22 to trade at $48.61 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.21% to 18.8918, while EUR/MXN rose 0.31% to 21.2732.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 94.66.
