Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 3.40% or 1.10 points to trade at 33.44 at the close. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) added 2.45% or 2.11 points to end at 88.13 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (MX:GAPB) was up 2.17% or 4.26 points to 200.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 2.01% or 0.50 points to trade at 24.32 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 1.63% or 0.260 points to end at 15.680 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) shed 1.50% or 0.330 points to 21.600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 150 to 130 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.22% or 2.70 to $1258.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.39% or 0.20 to hit $51.27 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.23 to trade at $53.92 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.95% to 18.4601, while EUR/MXN fell 0.63% to 20.7069.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 96.97.
