Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.62% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 5.25% or 1.380 points to trade at 27.690 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) added 4.69% or 1.190 points to end at 26.550 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) was up 4.14% or 0.890 points to 22.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which lost 2.60% or 2.45 points to trade at 91.83 in late trade. America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) declined 1.86% or 0.280 points to end at 14.780 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) shed 0.44% or 0.60 points to 136.57.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 139 to 96 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.41% or 5.02 to $1219.72 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.89% or 0.40 to hit $45.44 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.18 to trade at $47.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.67% to 17.7876, while EUR/MXN fell 1.13% to 20.3045.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.52.
