Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Telecoms Services and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 6.45% or 1.850 points to trade at 30.520 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 5.46% or 4.820 points to end at 93.080 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was up 3.37% or 6.270 points to 192.260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which lost 2.92% or 0.880 points to trade at 29.260 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) declined 2.32% or 0.710 points to end at 29.840 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) shed 1.73% or 1.960 points to 111.010.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 138 to 119 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.56% or 6.90 to $1243.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.40% or 0.21 to hit $52.38 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $55.16 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.00% to 20.4764, while EUR/MXN fell 0.03% to 21.9026.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 100.14.
