Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.28% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB), which rose 2.27% or 1.440 points to trade at 64.790 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 2.16% or 0.370 points to end at 17.370 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was up 1.94% or 1.57 points to 82.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 7.14% or 1.600 points to trade at 21.120 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 2.39% or 0.360 points to end at 14.670 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) shed 1.84% or 3.200 points to 171.160.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 60 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.20% or 2.40 to $1188.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.76% or 0.43 to hit $57.95 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.34% or 0.83 to trade at $62.89 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.24% to 15.3199, while EUR/MXN rose 0.63% to 16.7733.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 97.13.
