Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Goods & Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.14% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 2.83% or 5.350 points to trade at 194.010 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 2.05% or 0.67 points to end at 33.39 and Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) was up 1.36% or 0.640 points to 47.790 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which lost 1.55% or 0.540 points to trade at 34.200 in late trade. Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 1.29% or 5.170 points to end at 395.890 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) shed 1.24% or 0.530 points to 42.390.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 63 to 60 and 3 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.08% or 1.00 to $1224.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $59.87 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.21 to trade at $66.92 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.74% to 14.9919, while EUR/MXN fell 0.41% to 17.1596.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 93.32.
