Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC), which rose 3.02% or 3.96 points to trade at 135.27 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 2.40% or 10.47 points to end at 446.90 and America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) was up 2.05% or 0.320 points to 15.920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 4.95% or 1.290 points to trade at 24.790 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 2.40% or 0.620 points to end at 25.260 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) shed 2.25% or 0.830 points to 36.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 97 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.77% or 9.70 to $1269.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.49% or 0.73 to hit $49.77 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.18% or 1.12 to trade at $52.61 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.17% to 17.7574, while EUR/MXN rose 0.83% to 20.8702.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 93.16.
