Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL), which rose 2.05% or 2.860 points to trade at 142.110 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 1.65% or 0.63 points to end at 38.86 and America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) was up 1.47% or 0.160 points to 11.010 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA), which lost 2.04% or 4.630 points to trade at 222.750 in late trade. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) declined 1.25% or 0.530 points to end at 41.820 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) shed 1.18% or 3.030 points to 253.150.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 75 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.57% or 7.65 to $1341.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 4.11% or 1.87 to hit $47.37 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 3.65% or 1.75 to trade at $49.73 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.61% to 18.6844, while EUR/MXN rose 1.77% to 21.0348.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 95.05.
