Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.01% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 2.04% or 0.290 points to trade at 14.540 at the close. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 1.19% or 2.010 points to end at 170.660 and Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC) was up 1.09% or 0.530 points to 49.210 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 3.50% or 0.770 points to trade at 21.060 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) declined 3.25% or 0.940 points to end at 28.080 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) shed 1.34% or 0.460 points to 33.930.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 49 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.37% or 4.30 to $1170.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.59% or 0.92 to hit $58.92 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 1.16 to trade at $63.19 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.15% to 15.7158, while EUR/MXN rose 0.01% to 17.4633.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.95% at 96.39.
