Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 2.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 0.96% or 0.14 points to trade at 14.72 at the close. Atlantia (MI:ATL) added 0.04% or 0.01 points to end at 24.30 and Snam (MI:SRG) was down 0.09% or 0.005 points to 5.335 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 7.57% or 0.0505 points to trade at 0.6170 in late trade. Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO) declined 7.17% or 0.4100 points to end at 5.3050 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) shed 6.00% or 0.405 points to 6.345.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 352 to 58 and 17 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.79% or 1.25 to $43.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.99% or 0.91 to hit $44.92 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.52% or 6.80 to trade at $1289.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1520, while EUR/GBP rose 0.70% to 0.7916.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 92.80.
