Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were UBI Banca (MI:UBI), which rose 1.49% or 0.1000 points to trade at 6.8000 at the close. Campari (MI:CPRI) added 1.09% or 0.08 points to end at 7.42 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) was up 0.87% or 0.1200 points to 13.9300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Finmeccanica (MI:SIFI), which lost 3.78% or 0.460 points to trade at 11.710 in late trade. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) declined 3.72% or 0.0640 points to end at 1.6570 and Mediaset (MI:MS) shed 3.34% or 0.150 points to 4.342.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 255 to 175 and 4 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 3.14% or 1.56 to $48.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 3.00% or 1.58 to hit $51.33 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.58% or 6.70 to trade at $1162.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1373, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.7408.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.79.
