Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT), which rose 3.00% or 0.46 points to trade at 15.77 at the close. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) added 2.47% or 0.38 points to end at 15.78 and Campari (MI:CPRI) was up 1.72% or 0.15 points to 9.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 8.43% or 0.0263 points to trade at 0.2857 in late trade. Saipem (MI:SPMI) declined 5.19% or 0.0226 points to end at 0.4127 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) shed 3.10% or 0.190 points to 5.940.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 212 to 175 and 29 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.65% or 1.17 to $43.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.32% or 1.07 to hit $45.02 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.40 to trade at $1328.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0983, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8363.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 97.37.
