Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP), which rose 6.02% or 1.25 points to trade at 22.00 at the close. Mediaset (MI:MS) added 3.93% or 0.118 points to end at 3.120 and Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) was up 3.44% or 0.162 points to 4.874 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 5.79% or 0.0163 points to trade at 0.2650 in late trade. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) declined 4.51% or 0.122 points to end at 2.582 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) shed 3.96% or 0.235 points to 5.695.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 225 to 167 and 18 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 3.04% or 1.44 to $45.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 3.07% or 1.50 to hit $47.30 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.54% or 7.45 to trade at $1359.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1065, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8563.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 96.28.
