Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB fell 2.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Pirelli & C (MILAN:PECI), which rose 0.20% or 0.03 points to trade at 15.36 at the close. Snam (MILAN:SRG) fell 0.13% or 0.006 points to end at 4.734 and World Duty Free SpA (MILAN:WDF) was down 0.40% or 0.040 points to 9.990 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT), which lost 4.61% or 1.26 points to trade at 26.05 in late trade. Banca Monte Paschi Siena (MILAN:BMPS) declined 4.56% or 0.0275 points to end at 0.5760 and UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI) shed 4.00% or 0.295 points to 7.075.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 437 to 46 and 3 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.76% or 0.43 to $56.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.27% or 0.17 to hit $64.16 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.34% or 4.10 to trade at $1202.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0784, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.7219.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 97.78.
