Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB lost 1.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Finmeccanica (MILAN:SIFI), which rose 1.71% or 0.200 points to trade at 11.870 at the close. Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) added 1.69% or 1.40 points to end at 84.20 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER) was up 0.47% or 0.13 points to 27.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which lost 3.29% or 0.0610 points to trade at 1.7940 in late trade. UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI) declined 2.65% or 0.200 points to end at 7.350 and CNH Industrial NV (MILAN:CNHI) shed 2.48% or 0.200 points to 7.850.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 369 to 94 and 4 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.94% or 0.57 to $60.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.04% or 0.68 to hit $64.44 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1179.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1278, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.7251.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 94.85.
