Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unicredit (MI:CRDI), which rose 3.51% or 0.0920 points to trade at 2.7100 at the close. UBI Banca (MI:UBI) added 3.41% or 0.1120 points to end at 3.3960 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) was up 2.29% or 0.062 points to 2.772 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which lost 1.70% or 0.0145 points to trade at 0.8375 in late trade. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) declined 1.63% or 0.39 points to end at 23.61 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) shed 1.54% or 0.27 points to 17.24.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 186 to 143 and 23 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.55% or 0.29 to $52.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $55.91 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.41% or 16.85 to trade at $1213.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.88% to 1.0694, while EUR/GBP fell 1.92% to 0.8632.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.06% at 100.45.
