Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB added 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU), which rose 4.63% or 0.63 points to trade at 14.25 at the close. Banca Popolare Milano (MILAN:PMII) added 4.53% or 0.0405 points to end at 0.9355 and Unicredit (MILAN:CRDI) was up 3.59% or 0.215 points to 6.205 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Campari (MILAN:CPRI), which lost 1.33% or 0.10 points to trade at 7.06 in late trade. Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) declined 0.77% or 0.65 points to end at 83.45 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:BPEm) shed 0.50% or 0.037 points to 7.425.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 318 to 166 and 5 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.99% or 0.57 to $57.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.26% or 0.17 to hit $63.62 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.76% or 9.10 to trade at $1194.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.0756, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.7218.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 98.03.
