Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Communication, Banking and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 rose 0.97% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TA:TEVA), which rose 6.81% or 750 points to trade at 11760 at the close. Cellcom Israel Ltd (TA:CEL) added 4.32% or 143 points to end at 3454 and Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TA:TSEM) was up 3.78% or 329 points to 9042 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TA:BEZQ), which lost 1.33% or 7.6 points to trade at 564.4 in late trade. First International Bank of Israel Ltd (TA:FTIN) declined 1.10% or 72 points to end at 6470 and OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK) shed 1.02% or 22 points to 2145.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 201 to 191 and 22 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.92% or 0.42 to $45.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.86% or 0.41 to hit $48.15 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 1.23 to trade at $1217.87 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.05% to 3.5422, while EUR/ILS fell 0.01% to 4.0392.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 95.57.
