Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Utilities and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 3.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which rose 18.92% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.088 at the close. Dromeas (AT:DROr) added 4.17% or 0.005 points to end at 0.125 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 2.63% or 0.020 points to 0.780 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr), which lost 17.27% or 0.067 points to trade at 0.321 in late trade. Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) declined 12.61% or 0.044 points to end at 0.305 and Natl. Bank Gr (AT:NBGr) shed 11.11% or 0.14 points to 1.12.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 56 to 20 and 2 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.68% or 8.10 to $1205.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 3.13% or 1.54 to hit $50.75 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 4.05% or 2.29 to trade at $58.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.0923, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.7355.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 97.33.
