Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Insurance, Construction and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 2.49% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Hygeia (AT:HYGr), which rose 8.49% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.115 at the close. Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr) added 5.47% or 0.41 points to end at 7.91 and Attica Bank (AT:BOAr) was up 5.13% or 0.002 points to 0.039 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dromeas (AT:DROr), which lost 26.00% or 0.039 points to trade at 0.111 in late trade. Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) declined 18.20% or 0.09 points to end at 0.40 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) shed 15.28% or 0.22 points to 1.22.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 50 to 35 and 7 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.37% or 4.30 to $1157.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.37% or 0.98 to hit $40.34 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.56% or 1.20 to trade at $45.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.99% to 1.1351, while EUR/GBP rose 1.01% to 0.7236.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.75% at 95.06.
