Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Household sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 9.36% or 0.028 points to trade at 0.327 at the close. Iaso (AT:IASr) added 3.90% or 0.015 points to end at 0.400 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 2.53% or 0.040 points to 1.620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 9.17% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.116 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 6.90% or 0.010 points to end at 0.135 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) shed 5.74% or 0.007 points to 0.115.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 33 and 8 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.25% or 3.35 to $1345.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.78% or 1.68 to hit $46.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.68% or 1.71 to trade at $48.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1264, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8686.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 95.12.
