Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Construction and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which rose 8.21% or 0.028 points to trade at 0.369 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 6.38% or 0.048 points to end at 0.800 and AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) was up 4.85% or 0.037 points to 0.817 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which lost 6.25% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.165 in late trade. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 5.12% or 0.031 points to end at 0.574 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) shed 4.26% or 0.075 points to 1.685.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 37 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.17% or 2.05 to $1205.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.13% or 1.03 to hit $47.37 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.60% or 0.82 to trade at $50.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0644, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8749.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 101.33.
