Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which rose 28.11% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.47 at the close. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 7.43% or 0.026 points to end at 0.376 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) was up 7.06% or 0.30 points to 4.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which lost 10.64% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.084 in late trade. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 10.00% or 0.004 points to end at 0.036 and Intrakat (AT:INCr) shed 8.16% or 0.040 points to 0.450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 27 and 8 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.39% or 4.40 to $1129.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.84% or 0.38 to hit $44.84 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.19% or 0.59 to trade at $49.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1204, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.7292.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 96.09.
