Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Travel, Retail and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Terna Energy (AT:TENr), which rose 5.81% or 0.18 points to trade at 3.28 at the close. Elval (AT:VAL) added 2.84% or 0.04 points to end at 1.45 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 2.74% or 0.04 points to 1.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which lost 30.00% or 0.32 points to trade at 0.74 in late trade. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 9.67% or 0.026 points to end at 0.243 and Iaso (AT:IASr) shed 8.62% or 0.069 points to 0.731.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 51 to 23 and 2 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.94% or 11.10 to $1173.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.41% or 1.44 to hit $58.20 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.48% or 1.58 to trade at $62.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.00% to 1.1275, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.7340.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 95.35.
